Artemis is the new album by Lindsey Stirling that’s going to be the highlight of her 2020 Tour. That in itself is exciting and we haven’t yet talked about the album itself. Stirling released Artemis in the early September of 2019. Second only to Dumbo (who doesn’t speak at all), Aurora had the least lines of any Disney Movie lead. The princess spoke less than 20 lines in the whole film. As the voice of Princess Aurora, Mary Costa became entwined with the character. Regardless of the lack of lines, when the audience does hear her voice especially for the songs she sings, it’s majestic. Most of the soundtrack is simply musical scores not sung music. The score of the film is beautiful and received a nomination for the 76th Academy Awards for Best Original Score losing against Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. I can’t argue with that choice as it’s a film series I eventually will be covering (Yes, pun intended). This movie and it’s resulting music is rather dark with some seriously real undertones. The man behind the Tarzan soundtrack is Phil Collins. He was the main guy throughout the film arranging, composing and singing the songs. Other musicians that also contributed to the soundtrack include Mark Mancina, Glenn Close, Rosie O’Donnell, and Paul Bogaev. Together, they provided a gorgeous soundtrack with the voice of Phil Collins throughout. Phil Collins brings in some deep and heavy emotions into the lyrics and the movie itself.
