Tell us about KingCrown!
As the dinosaur of the band, I went on stage for the first time as a drummer in 1978 and joined Nightmare in 1979.
Who are the members of KingCrown?
The band members of KINGCROWN include Jo Amore (vocalist), Ced Legger (guitar), Bob Saliba (guitar), Seb Chabot (bass), and David Amore (drums)
What was the spark that got KingCrown started?
Following our departure, David and I founded Kingcrown in 2015. It was then out of the question not to continue making music together.
How would you describe your sound?
Power Metal with Pre-Helloween/Masterplan/Gamma Ray/ Iron Maiden influences
What is one surprising fact about KingCrown that fans might not know?
I used to play in Nightmare as a drummer and as a singer, but I am unable to play any other instrument. I would have liked to know how to play the guitar.
Is there a piece of gear or technology you can’t live without?
Without hesitation: Cubase
How do you know when a song is finished?
When you can no longer improve it and each attempt is less successful than the previous one.
How much of your personal life makes it into your lyrics?
There is always a part of being in every text, even when the subject is very far from our daily life. The very approach to the theme is influenced by our state of mind at the moment.
How do you handle creative block when it happens?
We put everything down, unplug it and go have a good beer. The next day, in general, we see things more clearly.
What’s on your current playlist? Any song suggestions for our readers?
I listen to bands with vocalists: Dino Jelusik, Eric Gronwall, but in truth I have very little time to listen to other bands than the ones I’m in. I listen very often by flange... I know! It’s not right!
What are some of the best moments of your career?
The "TITANS OF METAL" festival in Tel Aviv (Israel) in 2015.
If you could collaborate with any artist, living or dead, who would it be and why?
I would have loved to do a duet with Ronnie James Dio.
What were some of the biggest challenges you faced early in your career?
Finding a record company, because at the time it was the only way to record our music. MAE turned everything upside down.
What’s been your most memorable show so far — good or bad?
Performing the entire album "NOVA ATLANTIS" live with the symphony orchestra, the "Mahlerian Camerata" at the "L'Orée des Sons festival " in 2025.
What changes have you noticed in the music industry since the band began?
Everything is different: today there are a lot of different bands and styles. It is more difficult to find your place in the midst of all these talents.
What part of the music business actually takes up most of your time?
The composition and research of the best lyrics and melodies.
What’s a stereotype about music or your genre that you’re tired of explaining?
To those who don’t or no longer listen to metal and who ask me the question: "Why do you play a style of music that most people don’t listen to?”; My answer is obvious...
What advice would you give to emerging musicians?
Believe in you, in your passion; the traveling is not always simple and easy, but passion is a source of happiness.
What upcoming releases, shows, projects, or collaborations should fans look forward to?
We are going to promote our new album wherever possible and already dates are scheduled for early 2027. A grandiose event is in the making, but I can’t say more about it right now.
Is there anything else you’d like our readers to know?
LONG LIVE Rock ’N’ Roll !!
